| Bio: | THE CHARACTER FULL NAME: Eric Northman SERIES/FANDOM: Southern Vampire Mysteries/True Blood AGE: Eric was 23 when he was turned, but he is over 1,000 years old. GENDER: Male SPECIES: Vampire SEXUALITY: Straight ALIGNMENT: Eric is good when it comes to his well-being, bad when someone gets in his way and neutral if he doesn’t need to be involved. PERSONALITY: Eric is a calculating vampire. He is also very loyal to those that he holds dear. In fact, the two vampires that Eric would do and give anything for, including his own life, is his Maker, Godric and his progeny, Pam. Eric doesn’t care for many and he doesn’t show affection easily. The only vampire that he has ever shown affection to is Pam. Eric does follow in his Maker’s teachings that a true vampire is in control of their emotions at all times. Eric has an unwavering poker face and it is difficult to tell what he is feeling. Eric does have a temper, although he often doesn’t raise his voice when he is angry. Usually, he speaks calmly yet authoritatively when angry. When pushed, however, he has shown a great capacity for violence. Eric is used to getting his way. Due to vampire nature, he feels that humans and other supernatural beings are beneath vampires. He is often secretive and he is a master manipulator. He is also known as being ruthless. However, when asked a question, he may not provide a full answer, but he will answer honestly and directly. Eric has a deep attraction to Sookie Stackhouse, a telepath in Bon Temps, although he cannot quite figure out what is so special about this one particular human. She is the first human who has not fallen at his feet and she presents a challenge to Eric. Eric is confident and he doesn’t try to prove himself or please anyone. He is politically sound and has been the Sheriff of Area 5 in Louisiana for many years. He truly enjoys his undead life and has embraced being a vampire. He does not try to mainstream and he prefers human blood over the synthetic True Blood beverage. He also has a sense of humanity, which is uncommon for vampires. ABILITIES: Eric has the common powers and weaknesses of a vampire such as superhuman strength, speed, enhanced senses, immortality and rapid healing. Due to his age, he is much stronger than most vampires. He also has the ability to fly. Because he is a Maker, he is able to use his Maker’s call to call his progeny, no matter where he may be. He also shares a blood bond with Pam, which allows them to communicate through the bond. At any time, either of them knows how the other feels and if the other is in pain. Their bond also allows the other to locate the other. He does share a blood bond with Sookie Stackhouse. As he is bonded to Sookie, he can sense Sookie’s location and how she is feeling at any particular time. WEAKNESSES: His weaknesses include a stake to the heart, silver, fire and sunlight. Pam and Sookie are weaknesses to Eric as he would do anything, even meet the true death, if it meant their safety. CANON POINT: After Book 4. Eric’s memory has been restored, however, he remembers nothing of the time spent with Sookie, which frustrates him to no end. WHY HAS YOUR CHARACTER CAUGHT THE EYE OF THE COLLECTOR?: Eric has caught the eye of the Collector because he doesn’t want to collect the eye of the Collector. Eric is quite content in his position of Sheriff and being one of the oldest, most feared vampire in the country. He is interested in Sookie Stackhouse and nothing, not even the Collector or Colligo, seems one bit interesting to him. Eric knows what he wants and he intends to get it. Among Eric’s determination and his other strengths, the Collector is interested in disrupting the Sheriff’s plans.
